Questions and answers

Do I need to be strong or flexible?

No. We start from zero; strength and flexibility come with training. Everyone works at her own pace.

How old do I need to be?

There is no age limit: people of different ages train together. If you are under 18, you confirm at sign-up that you have a parent's permission.

What should I wear?

Shorts and a top or sports bra: bare skin helps you grip the pole. In pole dance and aerial acrobatics we train barefoot; in exotic, in heels or barefoot. Don't put body cream on that day.

How much is the first class?

5 €. After that a group class is 10 €, and a card works out cheaper.

How do I pay?

In cash at the studio. There is no online payment.

How do cards work?

There are 4, 8 and 12-class cards. A card covers group classes and open practice and is valid for 30 days from the day you buy it. Each booking marks one class on it, and you can see how many are left in "My classes". You buy cards in cash at the studio. Workshops are not included.

How do I cancel a class?

From "My classes". It's free until 22:00 the evening before for morning classes and until 4 hours before the others. Any booking can also be cancelled free of charge within 10 minutes of making it.

What if I cancel late or don't come?

With a card, one class is marked on it. Without a card you owe the price of that class, up to 10 €, paid on your next visit.

What is the waiting list?

If a class is full, you can join its waiting list. When a place opens, the first person on the list is booked automatically and gets a message.

Does a class go ahead if nobody books?

If nobody has booked by the cut-off time (22:00 the evening before, or 4 hours before), the class is cancelled.

Everything else is in the studio rules.

Studio rules

These rules apply to every class run by POLE DANCE YAMBOL LTD at the studio in zh.k. Vasil Levski 1, Yambol. Please read them before your first class and follow them. You accept them when you sign up, and we keep a record of which version you accepted and when.

What training puts your body through

  • Every class works your muscles, joints and heart. Sore muscles, bruises and strains happen now and then, even with good technique.
  • Pole dance and aerial pole: you can fall, including from height and while upside down, bruise, get friction burns from the pole, and feel dizzy when spinning, especially on the aerial pole.
  • Exotic: high heels put strain on the ankles and knees, and an ankle can twist. Knee pads protect against bruises.
  • Aerial hoop: the metal frame is hard and leaves bruises at first. You can fall from the hoop.
  • Stretching: overstretching can strain a muscle or a joint. Stretch until you feel tension, never pain.
  • Aerobics: it works your heart and breathing, and jumps load your joints.

Health

  • Come to class only if you feel well and fit for physical exercise. If you are not sure, ask a doctor.
  • Before class, tell the teacher about any injury, joint or back pain, heart or blood pressure problems, dizziness, recent surgery or pregnancy. Tell them in person: the site never asks about your health and keeps nothing about it.
  • If you feel pain, dizziness or unwell during class, stop and tell the teacher.
  • The teacher may turn away anyone who seems ill or is under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication.

Safety

  • Follow the teacher's instructions.
  • Come on time: the warm-up is part of the class and is never skipped.
  • Don't try new or unfamiliar moves without a teacher, and don't teach others.
  • Don't use the poles or other equipment outside class. In open practice, do only moves you have already learned with a teacher.

Clothing and skin

  • On the day of your class, don't put cream, lotion or oil on your body: your skin needs to grip the pole.
  • Take off rings, bracelets, your watch and other jewellery.
  • Pole dance and aerial pole: shorts and a top or sports bra; bare skin helps you grip the pole. We train barefoot.
  • Exotic: in pole heels or barefoot. We recommend knee pads.
  • Stretching and aerobics: comfortable sportswear.
  • Come 10 minutes early.

The studio and equipment

  • If you notice a loose pole, damaged equipment or anything unsafe, don't use it and tell the teacher straight away.
  • If you damage equipment on purpose or by breaking the rules, you pay for the damage.

Under 18

  • Students under 18 train with a parent's permission. When you sign up you confirm you have it, and the parent accepts these rules on the child's behalf.

Photos and video

  • We take photos or film during class only if everyone in the frame agrees.
  • We post photos or video of you on the site or on Instagram only with your explicit consent, and for anyone under 18 also with a parent's consent. You can withdraw it at any time and we will take the material down.

Responsibility

  • The studio is liable by law for any harm it causes. Nothing in these rules limits your rights as a consumer.
  • If an injury is partly due to ignoring the teacher's instructions or to a health problem you didn't tell the teacher about, any compensation can be reduced by your share (Bulgarian Obligations and Contracts Act, art. 51(2)).
  • The studio is not responsible for belongings left unattended, except in cases of intent or gross negligence.

Booking and cancelling

  • You book online up to 8 weeks ahead. You pay in cash at the studio.
  • A booking is for a class on a set date, so the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to it (Bulgarian Consumer Protection Act, art. 57(12)).
  • Cancelling is free until 22:00 the evening before for morning classes, and until 4 hours before the start for all other classes. If you booked by mistake, you can cancel free of charge within 10 minutes of booking.
  • If nobody has booked by that deadline, the class is cancelled.
  • Late cancellation or no-show: with a card, one class is marked on it; without a card you owe one group class (10 €), paid on your next visit.
  • If a class is full, you can join the waiting list. When a place frees up, the first person on the list is booked automatically and gets a message. If that happens after the deadline, cancelling that class stays free.
  • If the studio cancels a class, everyone booked gets a message, and any class used from a card goes back on it.

Cards and prices

  • Cards are bought and paid for at the studio. A card is personal: nobody else can use it.
  • It is valid for 30 days from the date of purchase, for group classes and open practice. Workshops are not included.
  • A card doesn't reserve a place: you book each class separately.
  • All prices are final, in euro. The company is not registered for VAT.

Complaints and disputes

  • You can make a complaint at the studio, to info@poledanceyambol.com or on +359 893 750 265, and we reply within 14 days. In a dispute you can turn to the Bulgarian Commission for Consumer Protection (www.kzp.bg) or to the General Conciliation Commission in Sliven, which covers the Yambol region.

Changes

  • When the rules change, we will ask you to accept them again the next time you sign in or book.
